After the massive amount of hype generated when BMW originally teased this car as an April Fool's joke in 2025, the German car manufacturer decided to enter it into the 2026 Nurburgring 24 Hours. As a warm-up for the event, it competed in the NLS2 race at the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, in a livery comprising social media posts wishing that the car would become reality! It rounded out the top dozen finishers come the completion of the race.
