The Boss 429 was a two-door Mustang offered for the 1969 and 1970 model years. Ford built it to homologate its semi-hemispherical-head 429 V8 for NASCAR, whose rules required at least 500 cars with the engine sold to the public. Ford rated the 7.0 litre V8 at 375 bhp and 450 lb-ft of torque. Kar Kraft modified the front structure and installed the engine at its Brighton, Michigan plant. Production was 859 cars in 1969 and 499 in 1970. This version is finished in Metallic Red.
