The Ford GT40 chassis #1075 is one of the only three cars having won the Le Mans 24 hours twice. After clinching the victory in 1968, the Gulf-sponsored GT40 was entered for the second time in the Le Mans race by John Wyer. With Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver at the wheel, the blue-orange GT40 ensured Ford’s 4th win in a row beating Hermann/Larrousse’s Porsche 908 in one of the most exciting Le Mans final laps series ever. The only other two cars having obtained two successes at Le Mans are a Bentley Speed Six (1929 and 1930) and Reinhold Joest’s Porsche 956 (1984 and 1985).
